Tubes look identical to Amperex/Philips tubes from the Heerlen Plant. BEL was one of the Philips/Mullard OEM plants in India setup with TOT (Transfer of Technology) from Philips.
BEL tubes were manufactured utilising Dutch Philips/Mullard British supplied tooling and expertise under the Transfer of Technology (TOT) program, which meant these tubes were physically identical to their British made counterparts in every way they had the same shaped anode plates, support micas and electrode geometry, the same seamed glass envelope, the same spot welding, same grid wire spacing and, most importantly, the same cathode chemistry and processing.
BEL plant was set up in cooperation with Mullard/Philips in 1950s in India to make tubes for military requirements. BEL also made OEM tubes for various names like Mullard, GE, Sylvania, Philips, Mazda etc etc. from 1960s to 1980s.
BEL is listed as one of the Philips factories in the tube factory code list.
Looks, sounds and performs superior to most NOS E88CC while beeing affordable.
